Body Liposuction

Conveniently located to serve the areas of Dallas, North Dallas, Southlake and the mid-cities.

Liposuction is a cosmetic surgical procedure used to remove excess stubborn fat from the body. Patients looking to contour away fat deposits often try exercise and dieting, and while these may help to some degree, stubborn fat tends to resist these efforts. If you’ve tried everything but still can’t get rid of those fat deposits, liposuction in Southlake is an effective solution.

What Is Liposuction?

Liposuction, or lipo, is a technique that uses medical suction to permanently remove fat cells from a specific area, making it look leaner.

You can treat one or more parts of your body with this procedure. Generally, people opt for liposuction to remove fat from areas like the neck, abdomen, hips, thighs, back, chest, knees, upper arms, or buttocks.

Liposuction is not considered a weight-loss therapy and is purely used for spot reduction of excess fat. Exercise and dieting can provide an overall reduction in body fat over time, whereas liposuction is instant and is targeted for specific areas.

Is Body Liposuction Right for Me?

Ideal candidates are looking to remove pockets of excess fat from certain body parts. Candidates must be healthy enough to undergo a liposuction procedure. Candidates must have realistic expectations regarding the procedure’s results.

Body liposuction procedures are appropriate for patients committed to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and staying at their current body weight. This will make the results of the body liposuction procedure last for a long time. Because of this, patients who are already at or near their ideal body weight are excellent candidates.

Before the Surgery

The process of liposuction begins with a discussion between you and Dr. Habash. Dr. Habash may ask you about your expectations, medical history, and any current health complications. You must disclose any fat-reduction procedures, diet routines, medications, and supplements you have tried or are currently trying; this will help to avoid complications.

After going through all the details, he will create a surgical plan and decide on a date for the procedure. Make sure to raise any concerns and ask questions regarding liposuction before setting a date for your procedure.

On the day of surgery, Dr. Habash marks the areas where liposuction will be performed. He may also take photos so you can see before and after images of your surgery.

During Liposuction Surgery

The lipo procedure typically takes 3 to 4 hours. Your heart rate, oxygen level, and blood pressure will be kept under observation during the procedure. In special cases or in cases where more body parts are affected, it may take more time to complete the procedure.

Several techniques are available for liposuction, including tumescent liposuction, super-wet liposuction, and UAL (ultrasound-assisted liposuction). The right technique for you will be chosen depending on your needs and aesthetic goals.

Regardless of the technique chosen, anesthesia will be administered to ensure a comfortable and pain-free procedure. Very small incisions will be made in the treatment regions. A cannula (a thin tube) will then be inserted into an incision. Excess fat will be loosened from the surrounding tissues and then removed through the cannula using suction.

You may be asked to rest for a few hours after completion of the procedure. The staff will monitor your recovery and give a prescription at a stipulated time. You will be discharged after ensuring that all of your vitals are stable and healthy.

After the Surgery

If the body liposuction procedure involved general anesthesia, patients will be advised to have someone drive them home afterwards. This will ensure safety while the patient recovers from the effects of the anesthesia and the procedure. Bruising and swelling will be present in the targeted area after your procedure for the first few days.

You may be asked to wear elastic compression garments during your recovery in order to reduce these issues and ensure that the skin tightens appropriately. Ice packs can also help with post-surgical swelling. Dr. Habash may prescribe a few painkillers and antibiotics. It may be necessary to take time off from work as well.

Follow-up appointments may be necessary depending on the treatment plan and the results of the body liposuction procedure. In cases where multiple body areas will be undergoing liposuction, multiple sessions may be scheduled for the comfort of the patient and to help achieve optimal results.

How Much Does Body Liposuction Cost?

The cost of a body liposuction procedure will be based on details of the treatment plan. Factors that can affect price include anesthesia fees, the size and number of body parts treated, and the amount of fat removed.
